  • Oh my!

I'm awful at how fast time is passing with the holidays, Christmas, and even with the New Year coming up while working, working and working. The days just blur together and I don't even have any time to test out cute outfits or makeup since I am very limited with work attire. And I don't just mean office attire, I mean, I have a dress code and a makeup code (basically, no makeup look) that I have to strictly adhere to. So my colors and glitter have been nearly untouched this whole holiday season! A tragedy in my book.

Anyways, hope you're all getting nice and plump! I know I am! If I don't blog again before the new year, have a great and SAFE New Years!

  • DEXTER FINALE OMFG

I just finished watching Dexter Season 4 Finale and I just need a moment to pick my jaw up off the ground.

    ...

    ...

    ...

    Just. I can't.

That season finale was stone cold. I was afraid to even THINK of the possibility of that happening and they did it. The writers did it. I can't. Wrap. My. Head. AROUND IT!

If you don't watch Dexter, watch it. It's by FAR one of the best shows I've ever watched. I don't want to ruin any of it, it's that good.

  • BB Cream?

I've been doing research on this magical sounding BB Cream aka Blemish Balm that hails from, the holy grail of cosmetics, Asia. It's supposed to be a cream that serves as a moisturizer, sunscreen, antiaging, and even whitening...an all-in-one magical foundation substitute. The market is being flooded with all kinds but I've been doing a lot of reading of all the different kinds. From what I've read, I'm very apprehensive of buying any of it because they seem to come in limited colors...mostly pale and ashy. I'm very yellow based and grey and ashy just doesn't sound attractive. I'm waiting until they come out with more color options before making the purchase. Anyone have first hand experience in this? I tried one in a Korean market but was turned off by the grey color.

But in all honesty, I do believe Korea and Asia in general make superior skin products as a whole. While we're obsessed with it here in the States, Asia and Korea specifically are on a whole 'nother level! But really, their skin is perfect!

Oh, and if I could afford it, I'd get my plastic surgery done in South Korea in a heartbeat. They got the idea of beauty down to a pat!

  • How to Make Hainan Chicken

I finally finished a cooking video! This time, it's in HD! I don't think it's much of a difference...you tell me. This one is longer than any of the other ones just because there's the chicken, the rice and the sauce, but it's so delicious! The chicken tastes so sweet and the meat is so firm and juicy, yet it requires almost no seasonings at all!

This time I recorded my Amah making Hainan Chicken AKA Chicken Rice (ie: Singapore). It's a famous dish that has roots from Hainan, China but made its way thru Southeast Asia and developed into its more modern form via Singapore style. Focus on the cleaning of the chicken as the skin is prepared to become more jelly-like and flavorful!

  • I Spoke Too Soon

    IMG_3160

In response to my post yesterday, life decided to make my life comical this morning by freezing a layer of ice over my car. I've had frost on the grass (where it's quite fun to hear it crunch under your feet) and a little frost on my windshield, but I couldn't even roll down my window for fear of actually breaking some gear inside! If I weren't in such a hurry to get to work, I would have taken a picture of how much ice was on my windows. When the sun shines through it, it was blindingly bright. How do people in snowy states do it!? I think even the window liquid was frozen as I had to bust out the garden hose instead.

Anyways, I'm exporting a cooking video as we speak! And it's coming to you in HD! It's been a long time, but with the start of my new job, it's been a strange and tiring schedule. I tend to come home, curl up and watch Dexter while drinking tea and eating left overs. I never see daylight and I need new makeup since I'm getting paler with the winter season.

Speaking of makeup, I just bought a bunch of goodies from Coastal Scents! I know I'm late on the bandwagon, but I finally gave in. Actually, I'm always late on the bandwagon...I find out about products early on and WANT to buy them, but I never can seem to part with the funds required to actually get them. I always make myself wait before making a purchase because that means I really actually want them. So in the case of Coast Scents, I've held off for over 8 months! I think I want them, lol. I rarely splurge on items for myself so I bought the 88 Palette (Who DOESN'T own it already?) and like 4 or 5 lip glosses (Which increased in price...booo!). I'll let you know how it all turns out!

I never did a post about my trip up to NorCal and Napa...I'll have to get on that! Here's a preview:
